Courage is Surrender | Take Courage
Week 4 — Courage is Surrender | “Open Hands”
Sometimes it’s easier to stand than it is to surrender. Last week we talked about conviction — standing when everyone else bows. But this week we go deeper. What happens when God asks you to lay something down?
In Genesis 22, God comes to Abraham and asks for the one thing that means more to him than anything — his son Isaac. The promise he waited 25 years for. And Abraham doesn’t argue. He gets up early the next morning and goes.
This message exposes the double life — the gap between Sunday surrender and Monday control. We look at how sin thrives in secret, how the things we grip can rob us of our future, and why confession is not weakness — it’s courage. Through Abraham’s journey up the mountain and Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane, we discover that what you surrender to God doesn’t stay surrendered — it comes back transformed.
Three things to carry with you: I hold everything with open hands. No more double life — all of me for all of Him. What I surrender comes back transformed.
